Tintara Single Vineyard
This Collection of Shiraz wines from small sub-regions of McLaren Vale provide a wonderful insight into the complexity and richness shown by this great variety. What is in the bottle highlights the uniqueness of each vineyard site. The aromatics, tannins and flavours are vastly different, attributed to contrasting soil, vine age, clone, aspect and elevation of each site. The result? Three wines showcasing the outstanding characteristics of McLaren Vale Shiraz.
Blewitt Springs
The Blewitt Springs Shiraz is sourced from the Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale, where 40-year-old vines are dry-grown in deep, sandy soil over ironstone rock. The resultant wine is aromatic, soft and voluptuous with red fruit flavours and fine tannin structure.
Upper Tintara
The Upper Tintara Shiraz comes from a sheltered, north western aspect in Upper Tintara, dry-grown on 105-year-old vines in shallow shale loam over ironstone rock and clay. The ruggedness, structure and low yielding vines of the vineyard produce a powerful and complex wine of savoury flavours and ultra fine tannins.
McLaren Flat
The McLaren Flat Shiraz comes from a 45 year old vineyard grown on fertile black and red friable loam soils which, with vineyard guidance, achieve optimum vine balance. This shiraz displays classic McLaren Vale structure with dense fruit flavour, complex aromas of dark chocolate and spice and velvety tannins.
